Deposits and the inventory

Protect the deposit in the DPS, TDS or mydeposits within 30 days. At the end, the scheme decides any dispute on the evidence, above all the check-in compared with the check-out, so the inventory is what protects you.

What to record in Haringey homes

  • Converted Victorian houses in Crouch End, Stroud Green and Harringay: photograph the shared hallway, stairs, fire doors and meter cupboards, and count street-door and flat keys.
  • HMOs and shared homes: photograph each room's lock and smoke alarm, the shared kitchen and bathroom, and any furniture provided in each room.
  • Flats above shops on Wood Green and Tottenham High Roads: photograph the rear access, external stairs and any damp or mould around windows.
  • Edwardian houses in Muswell Hill: photograph original features such as fireplaces, timber floors and stained glass, and any cracks in plaster on the hilly streets.
  • New-build towers at Tottenham Hale: record fob and parking counts, photograph the balcony and note any snagging marks on floors and worktops.
