Deposits and the inventory

Protect the deposit in the DPS, TDS or mydeposits within 30 days. At the end, the scheme decides any dispute on the evidence, above all the check-in compared with the check-out, so the inventory is what protects you.

What to record in North East Lincolnshire homes

  • Victorian terraces in the East and West Marsh: photograph the back yard, alley gate, gutters and any damp on rear walls and in back kitchens.
  • Homes in the East Marsh licensing area: photograph the selective licence and check it shows the right address and expiry date.
  • Seafront flats in Cleethorpes: photograph salt-pitted metal, window seals and any damp on seaward walls, and record communal areas.
  • Low-lying homes near the Humber and the docks: note any signs of past flooding on floors and lower walls.
  • Flats over shops in Grimsby town centre: record the shared entrance, fire doors and the number of keys handed over.
